The Sandbox $SAND

Introduction

The Sandbox is a decentralised, community-driven gaming ecosystem where creators can share and monetise voxel assets and gaming experiences on the Ethereum blockchain.
Using The Sandbox’s free software, such as VoxEdit and the Game Maker, players, artists and game designers can create ASSETs and experiences, such as games, dioramas and art galleries, for themselves and to share with others. These can be monetised to earn the creator passive income.

PLAY MODE

At its core, The Sandbox is an ecosystem for Players and Creators, consisting of three main components: a Voxel Editor (named “VoxEdit”), a Marketplace, and the Game itself.

HIGHLIGHT FEATURES

The Sandbox gaming ecosystem consists of three integrated products that together provide a comprehensive experience for user-generated content (UGC) content production.

A. VOXEDIT:
This simple to use yet powerful free 3D voxel modelling package allows users to create and animate 3D objects such as people, animals, foliage, and tools, and export them into The Sandbox marketplace to become game ASSETS.

B. MARKETPLACE:
The Sandbox’s web-based marketplace allows users to upload, publish, and sell their creations (ASSETS) made in VoxEdit, as Tokens (Both ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens).

C. GAME MAKER:
Anyone who owns ASSETS, either by making them in VoxEdit or purchasing them, can utilize them with the third and most important ecosystem product, the Game Maker and the Game itself. This product, when launched in Game Maker mode, enables users to place and use their ASSETS within a piece of LAND (an ERC-721 token) that they can own in the virtual world.

Users can decorate their LAND with ASSETS, and more importantly, implement interesting and nuanced gameplay mechanics by assigning predefined behaviors to the ASSETS through visual scripting nodes, turning a LAND from a decoration experience into a potential full game experience.

PLAY-TO-EARN MODEL

From time to time there may be events, activities and contests in which players will be able to earn or win $SAND tokens or Non-Fungible Tokens (such as ASSETs or LAND). Take a look below at some of the events you could be involved in and potentially earn these tokens from.

Earning $SAND
– Create and Sell Voxel ASSETs on The Sandbox Marketplace: Voxel artists can create ASSETs using The Sandbox’s voxel art program, VoxEdit. These ASSETs can then be sold on The Sandbox’s marketplace for $SAND.
– Create, Share and Monetise Experiences on LAND: Using the Game Maker software, you can create experiences, such as games, which can be published onto LANDs and then monetised. For example, players could pay a small fee in $SAND to be able to play your game.
– Renting out your LAND: LAND owners will be able to rent out any LANDs that they own. This allows game designers who do not own any LAND to be able to create, publish and monetise games, while the LAND owner themselves gain a source of passive income. Note that this is an upcoming, unreleased feature.
– Uniswap Liquidity Mining Staking: Provide liquidity to the Uniswap-$SAND-ETH pool to passively earn more $SAND. LAND multipliers will increase the total $SAND you earn. And as of Phase 4 you can now also earn unique NFTs. For more information, see: Staking $SAND on UniSwap.

Earning ASSETs

– Snoop Dogg Private Party Pass: The Doggfather is joining the Metaverse where he will be setting up his mansion and NFT collection, where he will perform live concerts and interact with players and other events.

– Discord Hunts: Discord Hunts are a series of trials that will take place mostly on The Sandbox’s official Discord server. Participants will be given a set of tasks to complete and then questions to answer. Eligible winners can win ASSETs as a reward.

Earning LANDs
– VoxEdit Weekly: Participate in weekly VoxEdit contests for the chance to win some LAND. Each week, participants create as ASSET that fits into a certain theme. Submitted ASSETs are voted on by the community and the winners receive NFTs.

– Official Livestreams

Community members who watch The Sandbox’s official livestreams, which are hosted on Wednesdays and Saturdays, have the chance to randomly win NFTs or $SAND.

– Community-Hosted Contests & Giveaways
Rewards: $SAND, ASSETs & LANDs
LAND owners may, at their own discretion, host contests, competitions and giveaways on their LANDs, for example within a game published there. Make sure to follow the social media accounts of your favourite creators in the community to be notified of when these pop up.

– Ambassador Program
The Ambassador Program is a group of loyal, helpful and very knowledgable community members who help out by answering user’s questions, making videos, writing articles, translating articles, spreading official Sandbox news on social media and so on.
