“Bithotel aims to be a social NFT game. A major component is being able to chat, meet and compete with other Hotel Guests. You’ll be able to purchase different NFT hotel rooms on different floors of the hotel — ranging from studio apartments to penthouse condos and more. Whatever you decide, feel free to make it your own — decorate and display your NFT collection however you like! Residences can be purchased and sold, pre or post-construction in the Bithotel Marketplace!”

PLAY-TO-EARN MODEL

However, until recently, earning mechanisms in Blockchain games have relied too much on collectible models where scarce, limited assets increase in value as a community grows and demand increases. This is more of a “buy and wait” model rather than “play to earn.”

Players have had some say in choosing the direction of their investments by evangelizing, creating content, and creating positive environments in the community. This was already an improvement on traditional gaming ecosystems but still not a clear case of play to earn.

BitHotel Play-to-Earn

Bit Hotel aims to be the Social-first Play 2 Earn NFT Gaming Metaverse, in which users will be able to use Bit Hotel tokens to participate in governance or acquire native NFTs.

The NFTs have in-game usability such as characters, hotel rooms, and accessories and each have their own perks (think: earnings multipliers, renting out, etc.). These NFTs can also be traded on the open market that will be released around year’s end.

Users will be able to meet and chat with other players, compete on our various ever-changing mini-games, and collect rare NFTs. Every game has winners and losers, thus there will be a global leaderboard that keeps track. Frequent events will be hosted in which players can meet and mingle.

A metaverse however would not be complete without governance. We will have a decentralized voting model that determines future content, this will be based on staking allocations and in-game achievement.

BitHotel Earn 2

Bit Hotel introduces our next “play to earn” mechanic through two simultaneous changes:

  • The ability to earn and win NFTs by simply playing the game and mini-games.
  • There will not be any “pay to win” mechanics, the playing field will be fair and share.

While still early, this development has some important implications for Bit Hotel, NFT games, and DeFi.

  1. By giving NFT gamers instant liquidity for tokens earned from their time and effort, via redeeming them for NFTs, the benefits of “peer to contract” liquidity can now be captured by NFT owners. Peer to contract systems such as Uniswap, Compound, and MakerDAO have been behind the massive growth of DeFi and the benefits of this growth can now have a tangible impact on user-facing Dapps.
  2. We are starting to gain more compelling answers around the benefits/rationale for building a decentralized game. If games can be hooked up into “money legos” like Uniswap, there are a plethora of functionalities that are created that traditional games simply cannot replicate. Interoperability being the most notable!
  3. We predict that games and user-facing applications will increasingly become an on-boarding mechanism for DeFi. As capital accumulates in the DeFi space, these applications will increasingly turn towards fun, practical applications such as games as distribution channels.
